Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, revealed the emotional story she told her three-year-old daughter about the political activist’s horrific murder.
The 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was shot to death during a public debate at the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday. On Friday morning, authorities announced that they arrested the suspect, a 22-year-old male named Tyler Robinson.
A courageous and powerful Erika made her first public remarks about Charlie’s death on Friday. Erika and Charlie had been married for four years and had two children, a one-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
Addressing Charlie’s death, Erika told an emotional story about their daughter coming up and asking, “Where’s daddy?” As Charlie and Erika were devout evangelical Christians, she turned to their faith to comfort her daughter:
“I said, ‘Baby, daddy loves you so much. He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.’”
A prominent political activist for over a decade, Charlie had over 5 million followers on X/Twitter and racked up over a billion views on his YouTube channel.
More Details Are Gradually Emerging About Charlie Kirk’s Suspected Assassin
After being sought for two days, Tyler Robinson turned himself in to authorities at the advice of his father. Robinson has no prior criminal record and posted a tremendous 4.0 GPA in high school.
A former high school friend of Tyler Robinson’s also claims that he was the only “leftist” in a “hard” Republican family. Robinson was also reportedly living with a partner, another 22-year-old male, who was transitioning to female.
While Robinson’s partner is said to be cooperating with authorities, the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk is reportedly refusing to talk. We’ll provide more details on the investigation when they become available.
